What is Evident?

How is Evident different from a BI tool or a chat-with-your-data tool?

BI dashboards and chat tools wait for you to look or ask. Evident works proactively: its analysts watch your metrics on their own, explain what changed and why, and only contact you when something matters. Chat and dashboards are there for follow-up.

How often do Evident analysts run?

You choose the schedule, such as a daily check every morning and a weekly review on Monday. Routine checks run without an AI model, so they are fast and inexpensive. A full investigation starts only when a metric changes meaningfully.

Which data sources does Evident connect to?

Databases and warehouses including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, CSV and Excel, MindsDB. For business context it can read Notion, Confluence, Jira, Gmail, Documents, MCP servers.

Can Evident change or delete my data?

No. Every query passes through a gateway that allows only read-only SELECT statements on the tables you approve. Analysis code runs in an isolated sandbox that never receives your database credentials.

How do I know a finding is correct?

Findings use metric definitions your team has certified. Before a finding is sent, a separate verification step reconciles totals, checks that every number appears in a query result and removes unsupported causal claims. Each finding links to its queries, code and checks.

Where are findings delivered?

In the Evident inbox, by email or in Slack. Any chart from a finding can be added to a dashboard that keeps refreshing, and you can ask follow-up questions in chat.
